Why Are Some Premium Features Still Greyed Out Even With an Active Subscription?

You’re subscribed.

Your payment went through.

Your account shows “Premium.”

But certain features?

Still greyed out.

Greyed Out Doesn’t Mean You’re Not Premium

A disabled button is not always a billing issue.

Platforms use layered entitlement systems.

That means:

  • Your base subscription may be active
  • Specific modules may require add-ons
  • Advanced tools may unlock by usage tier
  • Some features activate only after verification

The interface doesn’t explain that clearly.

Three Common Reasons Features Stay Locked

1. Tier Segmentation

Not all “Premium” plans are identical.

Some include advanced analytics, exports, or pro libraries. Others don’t.

2. Account-Level Flags

Enterprise, student, or promotional accounts may carry restrictions.

3. Sync Delay Between Servers

If you upgraded recently, feature permissions may take 5–30 minutes to propagate.

Quick Diagnostic Checklist

  • Did you upgrade within the last hour?
  • Are you logged into the correct account?
  • Does your invoice specify the feature tier?
  • Are you inside a team-managed workspace?

If the answer is yes to any of these, the issue is structural — not billing failure.

Grey buttons look like denial.

In most cases, they’re entitlement segmentation.

Your subscription may be active.

The feature layer might not be.
