Only Showing in the App Store? Why You Can’t Manage Subscriptions on the Website

You tried to cancel or manage your subscription on the service website — but there was no subscription menu at all.

Many users assume this is a system error. In reality, the subscription is being billed through the App Store or Google Play — not the website.

When a subscription is created through an app store, the service website cannot control or display billing settings.

Why Subscription Management Only Appears in the App Store

  • The subscription was purchased via Apple App Store or Google Play
  • Billing authority belongs to the app store, not the service provider
  • The website account is linked but not billed directly
  • Subscription controls are restricted to the original purchase platform

How to Confirm Where Your Subscription Is Managed

  • Check your payment receipt email
  • Look for Apple or Google as the billing provider
  • Review active subscriptions inside your device settings
  • Compare renewal dates between platforms

How to Manage or Cancel the Subscription Properly

  • Open device Settings → Subscriptions
  • Access Apple ID or Google Account billing
  • Select the active subscription
  • Cancel or modify the plan directly from the store

If the subscription was created in an app store, it must also be managed there — not on the website.
