I Was Charged Twice for the Same Subscription

You check your payment history and see the same subscription listed twice.

Same service. Same plan. Same billing period.

It looks like you were charged twice for one subscription.

This usually happens when the payment system processes the same subscription more than once due to a sync or confirmation issue.

Duplicate charges don’t always mean two active subscriptions.

Why the Same Subscription Gets Charged Twice

  • The payment confirmation was sent twice
  • A retry occurred after a slow or delayed response
  • The app and billing system updated at different times
  • A temporary authorization and final charge both appear

How to Check If It’s a True Duplicate

  • Both charges have the same date and amount
  • Only one subscription appears as active
  • No additional access or features were unlocked
  • One charge is marked as pending or temporary

What You Should Not Do

  • Don’t cancel the subscription immediately
  • Don’t request multiple refunds at once
  • Don’t create a new account to fix it

In most cases, one of the charges is temporary and will disappear automatically.

A double charge doesn’t always mean you paid twice.
