You requested a refund.
You expected the original charge to be reversed.
But before the refund finished processing, another charge appeared.
Now it looks like you paid twice.
This usually happens when a new payment is made before the refund cycle is fully completed.
A refund in progress does not always block new charges automatically.
Why This Happens
- The refund was still pending when a new payment went through
- The system treated the second payment as a separate transaction
- Billing and refund systems updated at different times
- The original subscription was still active during the refund window
How to Tell If It’s Only Temporary
- The refund status shows “processing” or “pending”
- The second charge has a newer date or order ID
- Only one active subscription period appears
- The refund amount matches one of the charges exactly
What You Should Not Do
- Don’t request another refund immediately
- Don’t cancel your card before checking refund status
- Don’t assume both charges will remain final
When a refund and a new payment overlap, duplicate charges are often a timing issue—not intentional double billing.
