You turned off account linking and expected billing to stop. The settings show everything is disconnected.
Then another charge appears.
This happens because unlinking an account does not automatically cancel active subscriptions. Billing remains tied to the original payment account.
Account linking controls access, not payment authorization.
Why Charges Continue After Account Unlinking
- Subscriptions stay active until explicitly canceled
- Unlinking only affects login and access permissions
- Billing remains attached to the payment account
- No warning appears during the unlinking process
Signs Billing Is Still Active
- Charges continue despite disconnected accounts
- No active subscription appears in the current account
- Billing emails still arrive after unlinking
- Support confirms the subscription was never canceled
How to Stop Charges Properly
- Log in to the account used for payment
- Cancel the subscription directly from billing settings
- Do not rely on unlinking as a cancellation step
- Confirm cancellation with a receipt or email
Unlinking accounts does not stop billing. Only canceling the subscription on the payment account ends recurring charges.
