Beta Access Approved — But You Still Can’t Use the Feature

You received confirmation that your beta access request was approved.

The notification says you’re in.

But the feature is still locked.

Approval Does Not Always Mean Immediate Activation

In most platforms, beta access is controlled by feature-flag systems.

These systems do not activate features universally at the same time.

Instead, they manage access through:

  • Feature flag assignments
  • Gradual rollout percentages
  • Environment-based targeting
  • Account eligibility conditions

If your account is marked as approved but the rollout layer has not updated your flag state, the feature may remain hidden.

Why the Beta Still Appears Locked

  • Staggered rollout — approval confirmed, activation scheduled later
  • Device or region targeting mismatch
  • Cached session data displaying old feature state
  • Backend propagation delay across service clusters

Beta approvals are often processed in batches rather than instantly applied.

What to Check First

  • Log out and log back in to refresh feature flags
  • Update the app or clear browser cache
  • Confirm the beta is enabled for your specific region or platform
  • Check whether the beta is limited to a percentage rollout

Important:

Being approved for a beta confirms eligibility.

It does not guarantee immediate feature visibility if the rollout system has not activated your account segment yet.

If access remains blocked beyond the rollout window stated by the platform, contact support and request confirmation that your feature flag is active.
