This Happens More Than You Think

Many users accidentally:

  • Sign up with Gmail
  • Try to log in later with Apple ID
  • Request verification to a secondary email

The platform treats each email as a separate identity.

Verification only activates the original account.


How to Confirm the Mismatch

  • Check the exact email shown in your account settings
  • Compare it with the inbox receiving the verification email
  • Look for small differences (dot variations, +alias, typo)

If they don’t match perfectly, you’re verifying the wrong profile.


Why the System Doesn’t Warn You

For security reasons, platforms don’t disclose whether another account exists under a similar email.

So it looks like verification failed.

But technically — it worked.

Just not for the account you’re trying to use.


If your verification email arrives but nothing activates,
