In-App Purchase Completed — Why Are Premium Features Still Locked?

You paid inside the app.

Apple confirmed it. Google confirmed it.

The receipt is there.

Your bank charge is there.

But the app still says: Upgrade Required.

This Is Usually a Platform Sync Issue

In-app purchases don’t activate features instantly inside the app itself.

They go through a 3-step validation flow:

  • App store processes the payment
  • The store sends a receipt token to the platform server
  • The platform verifies and unlocks entitlement

If step 2 or 3 stalls, your payment succeeds — but access doesn’t update.

App Store vs Platform Account (They’re Not the Same)

This is where many users get confused.

Paying Apple or Google does not automatically update your web account.

Especially if:

  • You use a different login email inside the app
  • You previously had an expired subscription
  • You switched devices recently

The store sees a valid purchase.

The platform may not link it correctly.

Quick Diagnosis

  • Log out and back in
  • Force close and reopen the app
  • Check if the purchase appears in subscription settings
  • Wait 10–30 minutes for receipt validation

If access is still locked after one hour, the receipt likely failed server verification.

When You Should Contact Support

Contact support only if:

  • The receipt shows “Completed” in the app store
  • More than 60 minutes have passed
  • You confirmed you are logged into the correct account

Support can manually trigger entitlement sync.

Your payment didn’t disappear.

Your features aren’t denied.

The entitlement handshake just didn’t finish.
