Turned Off Subscription Notifications but Still Charged? Alerts Are Not Cancellations

You disabled subscription emails and app notifications. No more renewal reminders. Everything looked quiet.

Then the charge appeared on your card.

Turning off subscription notifications does not cancel the actual billing agreement.

Why Charges Continue After Notifications Are Disabled

  • Notification settings only control alerts, not payments
  • Billing runs automatically unless the subscription is cancelled
  • Email preferences do not override renewal agreements
  • Auto-renewal remains active in the billing system

How to Confirm If Your Subscription Is Still Active

  • Open the official subscription management page
  • Check renewal date and payment status
  • Look for “Active” or upcoming billing information
  • Verify cancellation confirmation email

How to Properly Stop Future Charges

  • Cancel the subscription directly, not just alerts
  • Confirm status shows “Cancelled” or “Expires”
  • Keep cancellation confirmation as proof
  • Cancel at least 24–48 hours before renewal

Silencing reminders does not stop billing. If you want charges to end, the subscription itself must be cancelled.
