You paid through the app.
The screen confirmed the purchase.
Status: Completed.
But when you check your card…
The charge is still marked Pending.
No final posting.
No settled transaction.
This mismatch confuses many users — but it’s usually normal.
Why the App Says “Completed” First
- The service confirms payment authorization instantly
- Access is granted once approval is received
- The merchant marks the transaction as completed internally
- This happens before the bank finalizes the charge
In short: Service confirmation ≠ bank settlement.
Why Your Card Still Shows Pending
- Banks take time to post the transaction
- Card networks must clear the payment
- Currency conversion may delay settlement
- Fraud checks or verification reviews can extend processing
The money is authorized — just not fully posted yet.
How Long Pending Usually Lasts
- Domestic payments: 1–3 business days
- International payments: 3–7 business days
- App store / SaaS billing: sometimes longer
Once processed, the charge moves from pending to posted.
When You Should Worry
- Pending lasts more than 7 business days
- The service revokes access after confirmation
- The pending charge disappears without posting
- You see duplicate pending authorizations
In those cases, contact the merchant or card issuer.
Until then, “Completed” in the app + “Pending” on the card is a normal payment gap.
