You entered your card details.
You clicked pay.
The screen loaded.
Then the payment failed.
No card error appeared.
No balance issue was shown.
The problem wasn’t the card — it was the approval step.
Why This Happens
- Many banks require real-time app approval
- A push notification is sent during payment
- The transaction waits for manual confirmation
- If ignored, the payment automatically fails
How Approval Systems Work
- The bank flags the transaction for security review
- You must open the banking app
- You approve or deny the payment request
- No response triggers an automatic decline
This is often called App Authentication or Bank Push Approval.
Signs You Missed the Approval
- A notification appeared from your bank
- The payment failed after a delay
- No fraud alert email was sent
- Retrying immediately works after approval
How to Fix It
- Keep your banking app logged in
- Enable push notifications
- Approve the transaction when prompted
- Retry the payment after confirmation
Modern payment approvals often happen outside the checkout page.
If you miss the bank app confirmation, the payment cannot complete.
